After almost two months of waiting, more mead is upon us, finally bottled yesterday afternoon.
I'm very pleased with the taste, although it's not quite what I was after. It's a medium sweet/dryness, and has an aftertaste of pithy orange, which is surprisingly nice. It's not as heavily spiced as I hoped, but that might be for the best - for future reference, ground cinnamon works better than sticks.
And naturally the bottle got a modernist label, this time with a Christmassy twist.
The brew's named after two of Santa's reindeer, normally referred to as "Donner and Blitzen", as in the German for "thunder and lightning", but I felt using the
original spellings from "The Night Before Christmas" would add a little more interest.
